waterWater-less Wednesday

Challenge yourself every Wednesday

Reserve Wednesdays for water. Every Wednesday, you should think about how much water you use or consume. Challenge yourself to see if you can help save water.

Our Challenges:

  • Reduce your shower time by 2 minutes.
  • Keep shower time under 5 minutes.
  • Turn off the water while brushing your teeth and hand scrubbing your dishes.
  • Wash only full loads of dishes and laundry.
  • Use a broom instead of hose when cleaning outdoors.
  • Use a turn-off nozzle on the end of the hose to adjust the water flow and turn the water off and on.
  • Check hoses, pipes and faucets for leaking.
  • Use a bucket when washing the car instead of continuously running the hose.
  • Minimize irrigation run times to reduce runoff.
  • Check sprinklers regularly to make sure they are pointed at the grass and not the sidewalk.
  • Install water-saving shower heads and low flow faucet aerators.
